Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb ground venison
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 cans kidney beans (15 oz), drained
  • 2 cans black beans (15 oz), drained
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lime juice or apple cider vinegar
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a Dutch oven. Brown venison with onion and garlic, 8–10 minutes.
  • Stir in chili powder, cumin, and paprika; cook 1 minute.
  • Add tomatoes, beans, and broth. Stir well.
  • Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer 45 minutes.
  • Finish with lime juice or vinegar. Season and serve.

Notes

Simmer up to 2 hours for deeper flavor. Slow cooker friendly. Freezes well for 3 months. Optional additions: dark chocolate or coffee for depth.
